Whether you spent one summer at Immokalee or practically grew up here, welcome home. We’re glad you found us.
We’re working to reconnect with former campers, staff, and Adventure Guides, learn where life has taken you, and do a much better job preserving the history of a camp that’s been here since 1909.
Start by making sure we know how to find you. We’ll send occasional special updates from camp, let you know when there are opportunities to come back, and keep you connected to what’s happening here now.
Help Us Remember
Immokalee has been around since 1909, and we don’t have nearly as much of that history as we wish we did. Buildings have changed or disappeared, records have been lost, and there are things that happened here that nobody working at camp today knows about.
That’s where you come in.
We want to know what you remember. What did everyone call that building? Who was the camp director when you were here? What songs did you sing? Which traditions have disappeared, and which ones would you be shocked to learn are still happening?
If you’ve got old pictures, staff manuals, maps, shirts, newsletters, patches, or a box of camp stuff you’ve been moving from attic to attic for 30 years, we’d love to see that, too. You don’t have to know whether something is important enough to send. That’s our job.
A whole lot of Immokalee’s history is probably sitting in your memories. Or your attic.

And Tell Us What Happened After Camp
We don’t only want to know what years you were here.
We want to know where you ended up. Tell us what you’re doing now, where you’re living, whether you’re still friends with people you met at Immokalee, and whether camp has somehow found its way into the life you built afterward.
Your update doesn’t need to be particularly newsworthy. If you got married, had a kid, changed careers, ran into your old cabinmate at Publix, or found your staff shirt while cleaning out a closet, we’re interested.
As we reconnect with more alumni, we’d love to share some of those stories, too. We’ll always ask first.
Come Back Sometime
You don’t have to wait for an alumni reunion to come back to Immokalee.
Family Camp is one of the ways former campers and staff can spend time here again. Bring the people who are family to you, show them the camp you remember, and find out what’s changed since the last time you were here. And if Family Camp isn’t the best fit, you’re always welcome at an Open House or for a tour!
We’ll also use our alumni updates to let you know when there are other good reasons to come back.
Is There Another Immokalee Kid in the Family?
One of the things we’re excited to learn as we reconnect with alumni is how many of today’s campers have an Immokalee story that started before they did.
If your kid comes to camp now, tell us when you reconnect with us. We want to know when Immokalee becomes part of another generation of a family.
And if you’re thinking about sending them someday, we’d love to know that, too.
We Have a Lot to Catch Up On
More than a hundred years of people have come through Immokalee. We’re not going to reconstruct all of that history overnight, and we’re not going to find everybody at once.
But we can start.
Make sure we know you’re out there. Send us the photo you found. Tell us the story nobody at camp knows anymore. Come back when you can. And if you know somebody else who hasn’t heard from Immokalee in a very long time, send them our way, too.
