How Check-In Will Work
Final instructions, including whether check-in will be in the Dining Hall or Airnasium, will be emailed closer to camp. Hereâs what you can expect:
- Park and Walk In â Park in the main lot and head to the check-in tables.
- Get Cabin Assignment â Our team will greet you by name and provide your camperâs cabin info.
- Health Check â Quick screenings for lice and athleteâs foot to ensure a healthy weekend for everyone.
- Turn in Medications â Meds must be in their original packaging and include only whatâs needed for the weekend.
- Settle In â After check-in, campers head to their cabins to unpack.
- Most girlsâ families will drive to unload luggage at cabins.
- Boys will carry their luggage to cabins; wagons are a big help if youâd like to bring one!
Our staff will be everywhere to welcome you, answer questions, and make sure you and your camper feel taken care of from the very first moment.

Costumes & Trick-or-Treating đ
Halloween Camp is all about festive fun!
- To make our camp-wide trick-or-treat extra special, we invite families to donate individually wrapped candy or small Halloween goodies to share.
- Costumes are highly encouraged, but keep them camp-appropriateânothing too scary so even our youngest campers can enjoy the weekend.

We want you to feel fully prepared so your camper can relax and enjoy every moment:
- Download the full Halloween Camp Packing List

- All medication other than EpiPens and inhalers MUST be turned in during check in.

Cabin Requests & Assignments
We know cabin life is a big part of the camp experience, and we do our best to make sure every camper feels comfortable:
- We do not send cabin assignments ahead of time. This gives our team flexibility to make last-minute adjustments and ensure every camper has a positive experience once everyone arrives.
- Campers may request up to two cabinmates when registering.
- Requests are only guaranteed if theyâre mutual.
- Campers must be within two years of age to be placed in the same cabin.
Contacting Campers
- Emails: Families can send one email to cimmokalee@fcymca.org before 11:00 AM on Saturday. Weâll print them and deliver them after lunchâthe only camper mail of the weekend.
- Calls Home: Weâll reach out if thereâs above-average homesickness or illness, but otherwise, we focus on helping campers stay present and engaged. Please avoid telling your camper they can call homeâit often makes homesickness harder for them.
Photos & Waldo
We know you want to see the magic as it happens! During Halloween Camp, weâll post photos through Waldo so you can follow along without missing a thing. You can follow along with our Waldo photos here.

Teen Leaders
Teen Leaders are the heart of Halloween Camp!
- Check-in is at 5:00 PM on Friday whenever possible.
- We understand school schedules may make this trickyâif you canât arrive by 5:00, just let us know.
- Siblings of Teen Leaders may check in early with ImmokaSquad families at 5:30 PM.
Teen Leaders bring the magic to campâhelping younger campers, leading activities, and making memories for everyone.
Homesick & Happy â¤ď¸
A little homesickness is normal, especially for younger campers or first-timers. Itâs often a sign your camper is growing in independenceâand weâre here to support them every step of the way.
How you can help before camp:
- Get them involved in the packing process.
- Keep goodbyes short, confident, and cheerful.
- Avoid phrases like âIf you get scared, you can call usââthis can make adjusting harder.
- Talk about the fun theyâll have, the friends theyâll make, and how proud you are.
Our staff are trained to recognize homesickness early and guide campers through it with care, patience, and positivity.
When campers work through hard feelings, conflict, and problems outside of parent intervention, they gain valuable skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives!
Dinner Recommendations After Drop-Off
Looking for a great place to eat after check-in? Here are some local favorites, just minutes from camp:
- Johnnyâs BBQ â classic barbecue & family-friendly
- Cedar River Seafood â fresh seafood and southern favorites
- Stoneâs Irish Pub â cozy, casual, and hearty meals
- Brooklyn Boys Pizza & Pasta â a local favorite for pizza night
