Camp Scholarships

Let’s make camp possible — together.

Every child deserves the chance to experience the magic of camp. If finances are a barrier, we’ll do everything we can to help. Thanks to generous donors and the First Coast Y, we offer camp scholarships for families who qualify for overnight camp, day camp, and teen leadership programs.

This page explains how financial assistance works, what to expect, and how we can partner with your family.

How to Apply

Applying is simple, confidential, and reviewed with care.

To apply, make sure you have everything below and submit it to fa@fcymca.org.

  • A completed financial assistance application
  • Your most recent tax return or a letter of non-filing status
  • Your most recent W-2
  • Two of your most recent pay stubs
  • Documentation of any additional sources of income (child support, social security, etc.)
  • A personal letter explaining your need for assistance

You’ll receive an award letter in 7–10 business days.

Important: Once you receive your camp scholarship notification, please email it to cimmokalee@fcymca.org so we can manually apply it to your CampBrain account. CampBrain does not update balances automatically.

Before You Apply

We want this process to feel transparent and stress-free. Here are a few things that will help you set expectations from the start:

FA Decisions Come From the Y

Camp Immokalee is part of the First Coast Y, and all financial assistance is reviewed and awarded by the central membership intelligence team, not directly by the camp office. We’ll help you through every step, but the decision comes from the bigger Y.

Typical Award Amounts

For overnight camp, most awards provide up to 30% off the total cost. Higher awards are rare but may be considered in exceptional situations. If your family is navigating something significant, please reach out to us at cimmokalee@fcymca.org.

Assistance From Other YMCA Programs Doesn’t Transfer

Financial assistance you may receive for YMCA membership, Before & After School, or youth sports does not automatically apply to Camp Immokalee’s overnight camp programs. Overnight camp requires its own separate, annual review.

Annual Renewal Required

FA must be renewed every year.

It Won’t Auto-Apply in CampBrain

If you receive FA, you must email us your award letter. CampBrain cannot adjust balances on its own. We’ll take care of applying it as soon as we receive your documentation.

Processing Time

FA decisions usually take 7–10 business days. If you’re applying close to your camper’s session date, please reach out — we’ll help you navigate timing and next steps.

  • Any situation where camp would be out of reach without support

Military Discounts (Summer Only)

Rank-based pricing for military families. Your highest-ranking household member determines eligibility. Learn more here.

Multi-Week Family Discount (Summer Only)

Families registering for 4+ weeks total save $50 per session, whether it’s one camper for four weeks or siblings attending together.

YMCA Employee Discounts

  • Full-time YMCA employees: 50% off one week (and all off-season programs)
  • Part-time YMCA employees: 25% off one week (and all off-season programs)

We do not share FA decisions or financial details with counselors, campers, or other families. Ever.
