Spring Fling Weekend
Summer is getting close. Not quite close enough.
Spring Fling is our last weekend camp of the school year, with two nights back at Immokalee before summer officially gets here. We’ll do favorite camp activities, spend plenty of time outside, and celebrate basically every spring holiday we can fit into one weekend. Easter? Yep. St. Patrick’s Day? Sure. A little Mardi Gras? We’ll see.
If your camper already loves Immokalee, it’s one more chance to come back before summer. And if you’re thinking about a week of summer camp but aren’t quite ready to make that jump, Spring Fling is the last chance to try two nights first.

We’re Celebrating… Everything?
Spring Fling has never been particularly interested in choosing one holiday.
So there will probably be Easter eggs. Things will definitely be green. Mardi Gras may sneak in there somewhere. Mostly, it’s an excuse to have a really fun weekend at camp right when everyone is very ready for summer to hurry up and get here.
Two nights. Camp friends. Favorite activities. A slightly questionable number of holidays.

The Spring Fling Rundown
Dates: March 19-21, 2027
Check-in: Friday, March 19 between 6:00–7:00 PM
Please eat dinner before you arrive! We’ll take it from there.
Check-out: Sunday, March 21 between 2:30–3:30 PM
Closing Ceremony: Sunday, March 21 at 2:00pm

Your camper’s weekend includes their cabin stay, meals, favorite Immokalee activities, big games, and all of our Spring Fling programming.
What Kids Do at Spring Fling
Spring Fling still has plenty of the things kids love about a weekend at Immokalee.
Campers can zipline, canoe or kayak on Lake Brooklyn, shoot archery, spend time with their cabin, and choose from activities happening around camp. We’ll come together for big camp games and evening programs, too.
The holidays give Spring Fling its theme. The rest is a weekend of doing the things kids came to camp for.
Thinking About Summer Camp?
If you’ve been looking at a full week of summer camp and thinking, I think my kid would love this, but six nights is a lot, Spring Fling is a really good place to start.
It’s our last two-night camp before summer. Your camper gets to sleep in a cabin, meet their counselors, choose activities, eat in the Dining Hall, figure out what bedtime at camp feels like, and wake up the next morning knowing they already did the hardest part.
Then when summer comes around, Camp Immokalee isn’t quite so new anymore.
And if they’ve never been to camp before? That’s completely normal here. They don’t need to know the songs, the traditions, or anybody else when they arrive.
Campers stay in cabins with other kids around their age and counselors who stay with their cabin throughout the weekend.
Our East Side duplex cabins have bathrooms inside. Campers staying on the West Side, including in our Yurts, use central bathhouses nearby. Counselors supervise cabin routines, including getting ready for bed and getting everyone where they need to be.
Cabin requests are welcome, but they aren’t required. Plenty of kids come to Spring Fling without knowing anyone in their cabin.
Campers spend most of the weekend with their cabin counselors. They eat meals together, move through the day together, and come back to the same cabin at night. Those counselors get to know your kid pretty quickly.
Our staff complete required background screening and training before working with campers. Our year-round YMCA Camp Immokalee team is also on site throughout the weekend.
A nurse is on site throughout Spring Fling Weekend to handle medications, illness, injuries, and whatever else comes up.
You’ll give us your camper’s health information and medication instructions before the weekend. If there’s something we need you for, we’ll call.
We know it can feel a little strange to go from knowing what your kid is doing all day to… not.
You won’t hear directly from your camper during the weekend, but you can always reach us. And if something comes up that we need your help with, we’ll reach out to you.
Otherwise, let them have their weekend. We’ll take good care of them, and they’ll have plenty to tell you about on the ride home.
They might. Missing home is a pretty normal part of being away from it.
Our counselors are there to help kids through those moments, whether they need a little reassurance, something to look forward to, or just some time with someone who cares about how they’re doing.
If your camper needs more support than we can give them without you, we’ll call.
Yep. Spring Fling Weekend is tech-free for campers.
Phones, tablets, smartwatches, and other connected devices stay home. Campers can reach you through our team if they need to, and you can always reach us.
E-readers and digital cameras are welcome.
Teen Leaders at Spring Fling
High school students in 10th–12th grade can come back for Spring Fling, too, but their role at camp starts to change.
Teen Leaders spend the weekend taking on real responsibility, working alongside our staff, and helping make camp great for younger campers. They still get to be at Immokalee, spend time with friends, and have fun. We just ask more of them while they’re here.
Pathmakers | 10th Grade
Pathmakers are beginning to figure out what leadership at camp looks like.
They work together on projects and programs, help create some of the fun happening around camp, and start seeing how much goes into making the experience happen for everyone else.
CITs | 11th–12th Grade
CIT stands for Counselor in Training.
CITs work more directly with our counselors and younger campers. They help with activities, programs, and cabin life while practicing the everyday parts of being a camp counselor.
They’re still learning, and our staff are there to coach them along the way.
