Overnight Camp

Preparing for Camp

Make sure all required forms are submitted, and your balance is paid at least three weeks before camp. Returning families will find pre-filled forms in their CampBrain account, but please double-check and update any information as needed.

When packing, think about comfort and outdoor fun. Bring swimwear, comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and all the essentials. Make sure to label everything—things can easily get mixed up during all the excitement.

Speaking of packing, here’s our packing list!

Check-In

Check-in happens on Sunday afternoon, staggered by age:

  • Ages 7-9: 2:00-2:30 PM
  • Ages 10-12: 2:30-3:15 PM
  • Ages 13+: 3:15-3:45 PM

You’ll get a chance to meet your camper’s counselors, see the cabin, and make sure everything is squared away before their adventure begins. If your camper takes medication, please check it in with the Camp Health Officer—don’t pack it in their luggage..

Check-Out

Check-out takes place on Saturday morning:

  • Ages 7-9: 9:00-9:30 AM
  • Ages 10-12: 9:30-10:00 AM
  • Ages 13+: 10:00-10:30 AM

Don’t forget to bring your photo ID for pick-up. If you need to pick up your camper early, please let us know ahead of time to avoid disruptions. We’re unable to accommodate late check-outs, so it’s important to be on time.

Mail & Packages

Send some love from home! You can mail letters or packages to your camper during the week, or drop off packages at check-in. Here’s where to send mail:

Camper Name, Camper Cabin
YMCA Camp Immokalee
6765 Immokalee Road
Keystone Heights, FL 32656

You can also email your camper at campermail@fcymca.org. Please, no food or nut products.

Phone Calls, Technology & Toys

We encourage campers to unplug and enjoy the full camp experience, so we ask that all phones, tablets, smartwatches, and tech gadgets stay at home. If you need to get an urgent message to your camper, call our office, and we’ll make sure they get it.

Swim Evaluations

All campers take a swim evaluation on their first day to ensure they stay safe during water activities. Based on their swimming ability, they’ll receive one of three swim bands:

  • Green Band: Full access to all pool areas.
  • Yellow Band: Access to shallow areas.
  • Red Band: Shallow water access only, with life jackets required for lake activities.

Everyone, no matter their swim level, wears a life jacket in our lake.

Lost & Found

It’s easy for things to get lost in all the excitement, so please label everything with your camper’s name. Check our Lost & Found before you leave to retrieve any items. Anything left unclaimed a week after the session will be donated.

To request a lost item, please fill out this form.

Homesickness

Feeling homesick is normal, especially for first-time campers. Our counselors are great at helping kids settle in and feel at home. Most campers get past those initial feelings in a day or two, but if missing home lingers, we’ll be in touch with you to work together and help your camper.

Camp Infirmary & Medications

Our Camp Health Officer is on-site around the clock to handle any medical needs. All medications should be checked in during drop-off—please bring them in their original containers with clear instructions. If your camper uses an inhaler or EpiPen, let us know, and we’ll ensure they have access.

Emergencies

We prioritize your camper’s safety. Our staff is trained in first aid, CPR, and emergency protocols. If there’s ever an emergency involving your camper, we’ll contact you immediately. For non-urgent questions or concerns, you can reach our office during the day.

Food & Dietary Needs

We offer meals that accommodate all dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free, and more. If your camper has specific dietary needs, please note them in their health forms, and we’ll make sure they’re taken care of.

Nut Awareness at Camp

Camp Immokalee is a “Nut Aware” facility. While peanuts and tree nuts are permitted on camp property, they are not allowed in the Dining Hall, which is maintained as a nut-free area. Our Dining Hall does not produce food containing nuts, though some items may come from facilities that process nuts (e.g., pre-packaged items like Hershey’s bars). We ask families to be mindful of potential nut allergies when sending snacks, and please note that pre-packaged items containing nuts may be available for purchase in the camp store.

Camp Photos & Communication

We know how much you’ll miss your camper while they’re away, so we post photos to Waldo regularly to show what’s happening at camp. You can also send one-way emails, which we’ll print and deliver to your camper during the day.

Waldo photos are posted daily. We send out the code weekly to families of each session. While we aim to capture the spirit of camp, we cannot guarantee your child will appear in photos beyond their cabin picture. Our team uploads images each night, but timing may vary based on weather or schedule changes. Check out more about our photo philosophy.

Camp Store

In our camp store, campers can buy Camp Immokalee gear, souvenirs, and more. It’s a good idea to pre-load store credit before camp starts so your camper can shop without worry. You can see their balance in real-time and add money directly through CampBrain. At the end of the summer, any money leftover is donated to camp—camp store funds are non-refundable.

Packing

Be sure to pack everything your camper needs for a full week of outdoor fun! Stick to comfy clothes, swim gear, and things that can get a little dirty. Don’t send valuables or electronics—camp is all about keeping things simple and fun. Here’s the packing list!

Day Camp

Preparing for Camp

Please ensure all required forms are completed at least two weeks before camp. You can manage these through your online account. Balances must also be settled before camp begins. Our team will remind you if anything is missing. If you need assistance, we’re only a call away.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM at the Day Camp Hut. If your camper arrives after 8:30 AM, they might miss breakfast, so please make sure they’ve eaten.
  • Check-out: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM at the Day Camp Hut. For safety, you must present a photo ID that matches your camper’s authorized pick-up list. If you need early pick-up, notify us by 2:00 PM.

If weather conditions change, check-out may shift to the Airnasium or Dining Hall. Please sign up to receive text messages so we can let you know ASAP.
