The Future of Camp Immokalee: A Vision for Generations

Creating a Space for Connection, Adventure, and Growth

Camp Immokalee has always been a place where campers discover new things about themselves, form lifelong friendships, and connect with nature. Our master plan lays the foundation for the next chapter—an exciting transformation allowing us to serve campers and our community with more opportunities, comfort, and inclusivity. Here’s a preview of the vision coming to life!

We’re thrilled to share that several exciting improvements have already been made as we work toward this vision!

Highlights of the Master Plan

Our plan includes projects that elevate the camp experience, improve accessibility, and make the most of Camp Immokalee’s natural beauty. Here’s a look at what’s in store:

  • Lake Brooklyn as the Heart of Camp: Our clearwater lake remains a central focus. Planned updates will strengthen the camp’s connection to the lake, with better views, expanded beach areas, and more ways to enjoy the water.
  • New Dining Hall: A spacious dining hall, designed to accommodate up to 350 people, will serve as the heart of camp activity. This beautiful, welcoming space will host shared meals, gatherings, and events that bring everyone together.
  • Cabin Village Transformations: Our new villages will offer modern, air-conditioned spaces and ADA-accessible bathhouses, while preserving Camp Immokalee’s rustic charm. Unique village designs will help foster a strong sense of community.
  • Adventure Park Expansion: While we’ve completed the high ropes and zipline, our Adventure Park will continue to grow with the addition of low ropes and ground-level elements to encourage teamwork and trust-building.

Major Milestones Achieved

We’re thrilled to share that several projects outlined in the Master Plan have already been completed:

  • New ADA Trail (Phase 1): This trail connects key areas like the office, Dining Hall, airnasium, and East side of camp, making Camp Immokalee more accessible for everyone.
  • Adventure Park Completion: The new zipline and high ropes course are already favorites, with future additions focusing on low rope elements to create more accessible and group-oriented challenges.
  • ADA-Accessible Bathhouse and Cabin: We’ve completed a new shared bathhouse and cabin, both ADA-accessible, to ensure comfort and access for campers of all abilities.
  • Yurt Village: New yurts provide a cozy, unique village setting, blending tradition with modern comfort for our campers.

A Vision for the Future

In the years to come, the Master Plan will guide us toward even more transformations that enhance the camp experience and expand our reach:

  • Expanded Activity Spaces: A multi-purpose area for arts, crafts, and rainy-day activities will help us keep the fun going, no matter the weather.
  • Enhanced Welcome Center: Improvements to our entryway will create a warm, welcoming experience, setting the stage for the magic of Camp Immokalee from the very first moment.
  • Eco-Friendly Infrastructure: Native landscaping, green spaces, and outdoor learning areas will allow campers to connect with nature in ways that respect and preserve our environment.

How You Can Support the Vision

The success of this Master Plan relies on the support of our community. As we bring this vision to life, there will be opportunities to get involved—whether through volunteering on improvement days, helping to spread the word, or supporting a specific project when the time is right. Every step we take toward this future is made possible by people who believe in Camp Immokalee’s mission and are excited to see it thrive.
