What’s an Adventure Tribe?

When you join, you’ll be part of a tribe—a close-knit group of dads and kids who go through the whole year together. Tribes make everything feel like an adventure with old friends, even if it’s your first time. Dads can connect, swap stories, and support each other, while kids get to explore, learn, and form friendships that stick around. And moms, here’s your chance for some time to yourself while dad and the kids are off bonding!

A Year of Adventures: Upcoming Events

Each season brings something new. Here’s what’s in store for the 2024-2025 season:

  • Ice Skating
    When: December 8, 2024
    Glide into the season with a day of ice skating—a unique winter activity that’s a hit with both dads and kids.
  • Ponte Vedra 500 Car Race
    When: January 26, 2025
    Team up to design, build, and race Pinewood Derby cars. It’s a day full of creativity, cheers, and a little friendly competition.
  • Rocketry
    When: February 23, 2025
    Build and launch rockets together! Watch your child’s excitement soar as they see their creations take flight.
  • Guides Spring Longhouse
    When: March 7-9, 2025
    Join fellow guides for a spring campout, with plenty of bonding time, campfire stories, and outdoor fun.
  • Sunshine State Pow-Wow
    When: March 20-23, 2025
    Tribes from all over Florida come together for this multi-day event filled with games, competitions, and camp-wide challenges.
  • Princess Longhouse
    When: April 11-13, 2025
    A special gathering for dads and daughters, featuring activities that create unforgettable father-daughter memories.
  • End-of-Year Party
    When: May 18, 2025
    Celebrate the adventures of the past year with all tribes—a day of games, laughs, and farewells until next season.

How to Join

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Register on CampBrain: Sign up through our secure CampBrain portal. Membership costs $55 for YMCA members and $80 for non-members, covering most tribe events for the season. Longhouses have additional fees.
  2. Find Your Tribe: Every family joins a tribe—a group that becomes your adventure family for the year. If you’re new, complete our interest form, and we’ll help you find the right tribe or guide you in starting one.
  3. Jump In: Once you’re in a tribe, you’ll get updates, meet other families, and dive into each season’s adventures together.

More Than Just a Weekend

Adventure Programs at Camp Immokalee are about building community. Dads get a space to connect, share, and enjoy the time with their kids, and kids gain confidence, independence, and a strong circle of friends. It’s about creating memories and friendships that last far beyond the weekends.
