Our Photo Philosophy

Capturing the Magic of Camp, One Moment at a Time

At Camp Immokalee, we know how meaningful it is for families to feel connected to their camper’s experience, and we’re committed to sharing glimpses of the friendships, fun, and growth happening here each day. While capturing memories is important, our primary focus is always on creating an engaging, safe, and unforgettable experience for every camper.

Late each evening, we aim to upload a set of photos showcasing camp life, although timing may vary based on weather, internet connectivity, and the flow of the day. Additionally, we’ll post daily highlights on Facebook and Instagram so you can catch a quick glimpse of the day’s top moments.

Photos Are a Bonus, Not an Additional Cost

Photos are an added feature we provide to keep you connected with your camper. When the media team was added at camp, and more and more photos and videos were created, Camp Immokalee did not add this into the cost of camp. However, their main focus, like all our staff, is ensuring campers are having a safe and meaningful experience. This balance may mean fewer photos on certain days.

The only photo we guarantee for each camper is a cabin group picture, usually taken near the end of the week to capture the whole group. This keepsake photo ensures every camper has a memento of their cabin experience. Beyond this, while we do our best to capture a variety of campers and activities, we cannot fulfill individual photo requests.

Accessing Photos through Waldo

We use Waldo Photos, a facial recognition tool, to make it easy for you to find your camper. Each week, you’ll receive a session code by email and text for direct access to our photo gallery. Waldo will notify you whenever your camper appears in a photo, though it doesn’t guarantee daily appearances.

For your convenience, families can download web-quality images for free. High-resolution versions and prints are also available for purchase directly through Waldo. If you have questions about usage, just reach out to us!

Privacy, Safety, and Camper Comfort

We respect campers’ privacy and capture moments that reflect the true spirit of camp. Photos inside cabins are limited to special group shots, and all photos are taken with camper comfort in mind. Your registration waiver includes permission for photos to be used in camp marketing, but if you have specific concerns, feel free to email us at cimmokalee@fcymca.org.

Capturing Real Moments and a Range of Emotions

Camp is a place for all kinds of moments—from joyful laughter to focused concentration and everything in between. Some photos will show campers fully engaged in an activity, while others might catch them in a thoughtful pause. Just because your camper isn’t smiling in every photo doesn’t mean they aren’t having a great time!

And speaking of real moments—Florida weather can get very real, too. Rainy days are part of the adventure, and when the sky opens up, we bring the fun indoors with games, crafts, spontaneous dance parties, and cozy cabin hangouts. Rain might mean fewer photos, but the laughter, bonding, and creativity don’t stop. Rain or shine, camp life rolls on!
