Camp Preview
Not sure your child is ready for overnight camp?
That’s what Camp Preview is here for.
From June 3–6, rising K–5 campers can get a real taste of camp in a way that feels a little smaller, a little slower, and a lot less intimidating than jumping straight into a full week.
If your child has never been away from home before, or if camp sounds exciting but also like a big leap, this is a great place to start.

If a full week feels like a lot, you’re not the only one.
A lot of families are interested in overnight camp but still have one big question:
Is my child actually ready for this?
That’s a fair question.
Maybe they’ve never spent the night away from home.
Maybe they’re excited, but nervous.
Maybe you’re excited, but nervous.
Maybe a full week feels like too much for a first try.

Camp Preview is built for exactly that stage.
It gives kids and families a way to ease in to the camp experience.
What Camp Preview is
Camp Preview is a 3-night overnight camp experience for rising K–5 campers who are new to camp or not quite ready to jump into a full week.
They’ll get to:
- stay in a cabin
- meet counselors and other campers
- try a variety of camp activities
- get comfortable with camp routines
- leave knowing what camp feels like
It’s not a watered-down version of camp. It’s real camp designed with beginners in mind.
What makes it different from a regular camp session?
A few things.
Smaller group
Camp Preview stays intentionally small. That helps everything feel more personal from the start.
Slower pace
We’re not trying to cram everything in or make kids pick favorites right away. There’s more room to settle in, get comfortable, and try things without pressure.
A chance to sample camp
Instead of feeling like they have to know exactly what they love on day one, campers get a little taste of a lot of what makes camp fun.
Built for first-timers
Our team knows this may be a child’s first time away from home. That matters. We plan and staff accordingly.
It still feels like camp. Just with the volume turned down a bit.
Who Camp Preview is for
Camp Preview is a great fit for kids who:
- have never been to overnight camp before
- are interested in camp, but a little unsure
- would benefit from a shorter first experience
- want to try camp before committing to a full week
It’s also a great fit for parents who are thinking:
- “I think they’d love camp, but I’m not sure they’re ready for a whole week.”
- “They’ve never done this before.”
- “I want to set them up for success, but a week is a lot.”
Who probably doesn’t need Camp Preview
If your child already knows they’re ready for camp and is excited to jump into a full week, you may not need this step.
Camp Preview is here for families who want a softer start.
What success looks like
We’re not expecting a perfect three days. We’re aiming for something better than that. We want your child to leave saying, “I want to come back.”
There are going to be moments of homesickness, moments of “I’m not sure about this…,” and activities that aren’t there favorite. But more than that, there’ll be moments of “I did it!,” making friends, and discovering they like something they’ve never done before.
That’s the win.
Let’s talk about nerves, homesickness, and all the normal stuff
Doing something new can feel big, especially when you’re little. We don’t treat that like failure, and we don’t expect kids to just “get over it.”
Our staff are there to help campers settle in, make connections, stay engaged, and work through those first-time feelings with support and encouragement.
We can’t promise no nerves. But we can promise your child will be cared for by people who know what to do with them.
What parents can expect
We know this is often a big step for parents too.
You can expect:
- a thoughtful first-time experience
- strong supervision and support
- clear communication leading up to camp
- a team that understands both the excitement and the hesitation
This isn’t a “drop them off and hope for the best” kind of thing. We’re here to partner with you.
